First-Ever Physically Delivered Oregon CFP Futures Trade on Nodal Exchange

May 7, 2021 | Press Release

We are pleased to share that yesterday the first-ever Oregon Clean Fuels Program (CFP) Futures contracts traded on Nodal Exchange.  The trade, cleared on Nodal Clear, was for 50 December-21 futures (representing 5,000 CFP credits) and priced at $127.00. The Oregon CFP contracts are part of Nodal’s physically delivered renewable fuels product suite, which also includes futures contracts for California’s LCFS Program and D3, D4, D5 and D6 Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs). The IncubEx team worked closely with market participants to develop a physical product that directly addresses the needs of obligated compliance parties and project developers alike. Nodal’s contract is unique in providing physical delivery of Oregon CFP credits upon contract expiration. These products are part of the broadest slate of environmental futures contracts available on any exchange.

IncubEx and Nodal Exchange continue to watch these developing markets and monitor opportunities to further expand the renewable fuels markets in North America.
